Welcome to Diversity Yoga with Cathy Richardson, senior yoga teacher and yoga therapist
More about Cathy Richardson, yoga teacher, speaker and writer
Cathy is an experienced and enthusiastic yoga practitioner, having discovered yoga at the relatively late age of 45. She qualified as a yoga teacher with Sam Rao by completing RYT200, and continued on to achieving 500 hours of teacher training by achieving a Masters Level Yoga Therapy Diplomae at Yoga Campus.
Cathy has a particular interest in yoga therapy for injury prevention and recovery, yoga for stress management and techniques to relieve upper and lower back problems with restorative yoga. This includes Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra. Cathy is a qualified performance coach, working with sports people and business performers to achieve optimal output in a healthful, mindful way whilst managing work-related stress.
Cathy’s yoga teaching introduces the mind/body connection and good physical alignment in the postures, building from a strong foundation of equally balancing strength, flexibility and mental focus. Rebalancing unnatural or unhealthy movement and postural habits, restoring the natural physical balance and removing stress points all form part of her yoga offering.
Cathy regularly blogs about yoga-related subjects on www.diversityyoga.co.uk. She also contributes to discussions on wellbeing and stress-management issues in the workplace and has delivered talks on the subject at business and networking events.
Cathy’s classes and workshops aim to extend the physical boundaries whilst finding calm and quiet in the mind. A fun element is introduced with a central yogic class theme and related playlist of music to frame the mood of the class. You will leave feeling better than when you arrived!.
